This vocational course will allow you to develop your skills, a critical understanding of business behaviour and the business environment by investigating and analysing real-life businesses. You will study leadership, attracting customers, recruiting and nurturing employees, managing finances, measuring business success and developing strategic plans. All necessary to continue studying Business to degree level, start work, build your own business or succeed in any career.
The skills and experience you will receive are vital to succeed in the business environment, thereby enhancing your employability within the business sector.
BTEC National Business course consists of four units:
Unit 1 – Exploring Enterprise
Unit 2 – Developing A Marketing Campaign
Unit 3 – Personal and Business Finance
Unit 8- Recruitment and Selection Processes

You must have 5 qualifications at level 2 /GCSE at grade 4/pass or above including English or Maths.
It is important to note that there is no requirement for candidates to have studied the qualification at Level 2, before progressing to a Level 3 course.

You will study four units actress the two years, two internally assessed coursework units, one externally assessed controlled assessment unit and one externally assessed exam
Year 12
Unit 2 Developing a Marketing Campaign – Externally assessed controlled assessment sat in January (25% of overall grade)
Unit 1 Exploring Enterprise – Internally assessed coursework (25% of overall grade)
Year 13
Unit 3 Personal and Business Finance – Externally assessed exam sat in January (33% of overall grade)
Unit 8 Recruitment and Selection Processes – Internally assessed coursework (17% Overall grade)
